Inasmuch as Jesus continues to heal and forgive us today, we have lots of chances to be cleansed, forgiven, and eventually be converted. It is only through the healing and forgiveness of Jesus Christ we can be saved. The reason why Jesus is called the Messiah is because He is the only one appointed by God to the atonement. Through His infinite atonement, he had given us salvation from our sins and has redeemed us from spiritual death.
